As families prepare for the back-to-school season, the rising cost of supplies can place a significant financial strain on parents. At Rise48 Equity, supporting our residents goes beyond providing housing. We are committed to creating meaningful community impact. This year, we proudly hosted our fourth annual Rise Supplies: Back-to-School events, distributing nearly 10,000 school supply kits across our communities in Phoenix, Arizona, Dallas, Texas, and Charlotte & Greensboro, North Carolina

Each backpack was filled with notebooks, folders, highlighters, colored pencils, markers, and more. And while the supplies help ease a financial burden, the events also provided opportunities for families to gather, celebrate, and connect with their neighbors.

A Celebration Across Three States 

In Phoenix, the Rise Supplies events reached all 29 Rise48-owned properties, plus one additional community managed by their 3rd party property management company, Rise48 Residential. Families enjoyed everything from snow cones and root beer floats to coloring stations and pool parties. At Rise Parkside, kids were greeted with a special visit from the Glendale Fire Department, and Rise Broadway brought back their giant inflatable waterslide for the second year in a row.

In Texas, the initiative stretched across 15 Rise48 Communities properties and 5 additional Rise48 Residential communities. Residents came together for cookouts, raffles, ice cream socials, and games, turning back-to-school prep into a day of fun and connection.

Rise48’s North Carolina teams hosted events across all 5 Rise48 communities in Charlotte and Greensboro. Families picked up school supplies, decorated backpacks, and shared in activities that made the start of the school year feel a little brighter.

Why It Matters

“We started Rise Supplies in order to help remove the financial burden of school supplies that weighs on parents and our residents. We’re grateful it has continued to grow each year and it’s a true blessing to see the impact it has on the communities,” said Zach Haptonstall, CEO and Co-Founder of Rise48 Equity.  

 

“Every little bit makes a big difference for these families, and we want them to know we have their back. Now in our 4th year of Rise Supplies, it’s pretty cool to see how much it has grown. We went from 24 properties to now 48 assets and impacting nearly 10,000 residents. Our team has a great time each year preparing the supplies and handing them out at the properties. We’re already looking forward to an even bigger event next year.” Haptonstall added.

Looking Ahead

From 24 properties in our first year to now 48 assets across three states, the Rise Supplies initiative has become more than just backpacks. It’s about community, support, and ensuring that every child in our communities has what they need to succeed.
